Inlcluding your banner in your email signature is a great way to direct traffic to your website and help promote your banner.
How to Create Your E-Mail Signature in Outlook
1. Select Tools… Options from the main menu
2. Select the Mail Format tab from the options at the top
3. In the Signature section, click the Signatures… button
4. In the Create Signature window, click the New button
5. Enter a name for your new e-mail signature in the designated field.
6. Make sure the radio button for “Start with a blank signature” is selected and click Next
7. You will now be at the Edit Signature screen
8. If you wish, all the text can be a set font, size, and color. Click Font and make your choices now, otherwise, you will be able to select specific pieces of text and apply separate styles once you have your text set the way you want.
9. Type your name and any other information you wish to have in your e-mail signature
10. If you’ve chosen to have different styles for your text, select the text and make those changes now. Click and drag over the text you want to change, then click the Font button and edit the font settings. Continue this process until you have your text the way you want.
11. Place the cursor below the text and right-click in the window.
12. Select Insert Image from the options
13. Next to the Picture Source field, click Browse. Locate and select the banner image you saved to your hard drive in the steps above. The Picture Source field should now be populated with the path to the image
14. The Alternate Text field is optional, but if you wish, you can enter a short message that will be seen when the reader’s mouse is over the image.
15. Select “Absmiddle” for the Alignment option
16. When you are finished, click OK. The MMG Weekly banner image should now be visible in the main window with your text.
17. Select the image. Start at the top of the image, click and hold the left mouse button. Drag the mouse down towards the bottom of the screen until you see the full image highlighted.
18. With the image still highlighted, locate the small black rectangle in the lower-left-hand corner extending from the highlighted image. Right-click on the rectangle (or anywhere in the area below the image) and select “Edit Hyperlink” from the options.
19. On the Hyperlink screen, leave Type as “http:” and insert the link to your newsletter in the “URL:” field
20. Click OK.
22. Verify you have your signature the way you want and click OK on the Edit Signature screen.
23. Your new e-mail signature is ready to go. It will be inserted automatically at the bottom of every e-mail you send.
